Engine Shutdown Plugin

This section describes how to use the Engine Shutdown plugin. This plugin uses Kettle scripts to ensure that Engine is not running before a data load process is invoked.

The scripts in this directory are run in an open-source ETL package called Kettle. There are three ways of running the scripts:

1. With a user interface, using a Kettle application called Spoon (Spoon allows you to edit and debug scripts)
2. From a command line, using a Kettle application called Kitchen
3. From another Kettle script using the Job step
